Born and raised in the City of the Dragon, Yi Sun-shin grew up witnessing the countless tragedies unfolding around him, ships being attacked and fishermen being mercilessly annihilated by pirates. So, young Yi Sun-shin decided to become an admiral and protect his homeland.
Yi Sun-shin spent all of her childhood training and preparing herself for the future. He studied sailing and fighting techniques. He even ventured into the Dragons Altar and gained knowledge from the elders there.
At the age of 18, Yi Sun-shin finally joined the navy, even though he was only a sailor at the time. In the following decades, Yi Sun-shin followed the fleet into many battles, traveling between the Frozen Sea and the Sea of Hope and fighting famous pirates. He displayed unprecedented wisdom and leadership in battle, and gradually became the leader of the entire Paenlong Fleet after years of fighting.
#Under Yi Sun-shin's command, the legendary fleet defeated pirate time and again, repelling nearly all pirates back to the Sea of Hope and restoring peace to this once destroyed place.
As Yi Sun-shin continued to launch attacks, the pirate began to feel hopeless. The despair that they could not win against Yi Sun-shin had also made one thing clearer, if they still wanted to return to City of the Dragon, they would have to defeat Yi Sun-shin. Knowing that they could not face Yi Sun-shin and his fleet head-on and defeat him at sea, they ended up tricking them. Dressed in disguise, the pirates infiltrated the City of the Dragon and spread rumors, claiming that Yi Sun-shin was not satisfied with just leading a naval fleet but wanted to rule the entire City of the Dragon and Sea of Hope and not just after reaching something out of the ordinary.
Just as the pirates expected, the city lords accepted the rumors as accusations, and the rumors as truth. In a short time, they then dismissed Yi Sun-shin from his post and made him an ordinary person. Seeing this, the dangerous pirates proceeded to the next part of the plan. They spread another rumor saying that pirates were gathering in Frozen Sea, which was a chance to finish them off completely.
#Although Yi Sun-shin admonished him firmly, the rulers ate the bait and sent most of the Paenlong Fleet on this mission, leaving only a few ships to protect the harbor. But what they don't know is that the pirates in Frozen Sea and Sea of Hope have joined forces and set traps in the northern part of the Frozen Sea, waiting for the fleet to fall right into it.
